 COMPUTER MEMORY

It is an internal storage area in the Computer System. The term Memory is used for physical memory, which refers to the actual chips capable of holding date. There is also a virtual memory, which expands physical memory, which expands physical memory onto a hard disk. There are two types of memory use in Computer Primary and Secondary.

यह कंप्यूटर सिस्टम में एक आंतरिक भंडारण क्षेत्र है। मेमोरी शब्द का उपयोग भौतिक मेमोरी के लिए किया जाता है, जो वास्तविक चिप्स को धारण करने में सक्षम है। एक वर्चुअल मेमोरी भी है, जो भौतिक मेमोरी का विस्तार करती है, जो एक हार्ड डिस्क पर भौतिक मेमोरी का विस्तार करती है। कंप्यूटर प्राइमरी और सेकेंडरी में दो तरह के मेमोरी यूज होते हैं।

The term memory can be categorized in two ways...

• Primary Memory:- Every Computer comes with a certain amount of physical memory, usual referred to as main memory or primary memory for example RAM and ROM.
• प्रत्येक कंप्यूटर एक निश्चित मात्रा में भौतिक मेमोरी के साथ आता है, जिसे सामान्य रूप से मुख्य मेमोरी या प्राथमिक मेमोरी के रूप में संदर्भित किया जाता है, उदाहरण के लिए RAM और ROM।

• Secondary Memory:- These types of memories are internal or external devices either inside or outside the Computer. It store programs and data permanently. It is slower, but cheaper. Floppy disks, hard drives, CD, DVD Pen drive etc are secondary storage devices. The secondary storage can be divided into Magnetic device, Optical Device and Flash Memory. 
• इस प्रकार की मेमोरी कंप्यूटर के अंदर या बाहर आंतरिक या बाहरी डिवाइस हैं। यह प्रोग्राम और डेटा को स्थायी रूप से स्टोर करता है। यह धीमा है, लेकिन सस्ता है। फ्लॉपी डिस्क, हार्ड ड्राइव, सीडी, डीवीडी पेन ड्राइव आदि सेकेंडरी स्टोरेज डिवाइस हैं। सेकेंडरी स्टोरेज को मैग्नेटिक डिवाइस, ऑप्टिकल डिवाइस और फ्लैश मेमोरी में विभाजित किया जा सकता है।

Primary Memory (RAM - Random Access Memory):- It is a temporary (Volatile) storage are utilized by the CPU. Before a program runs, the program is loaded into the memory which allows the CPU direct access to program. 

यह एक अस्थायी (अस्थिर) भंडारण है जिसका उपयोग सीपीयू द्वारा किया जाता है। प्रोग्राम के चलने से पहले, प्रोग्राम को मेमोरी में लोड किया जाता है जो सीपीयू को प्रोग्राम तक सीधी पहुँच की अनुमति देता है।

• SRAM:- Abbreviation is Static Random Access Memory that is faster and more reliable than the more common DRAM (Dynamic RAM). The term Static is derived form the fact that it doesn't need to be refreshed like Dynamic RAM. SRAM is often used only as a memory cache usual found in the CPU (L1, L2, and L3 Cache).
• संक्षिप्त नाम स्टेटिक रैंडम एक्सेस मेमोरी है जो अधिक सामान्य DRAM (डायनामिक रैम) की तुलना में तेज और अधिक विश्वसनीय है। स्टेटिक शब्द की उत्पत्ति इस तथ्य से हुई है कि इसे डायनामिक रैम की तरह रीफ्रेश करने की आवश्यकता नहीं है। SRAM का उपयोग अक्सर केवल CPU (L1, L2, और L3 कैश) में पाए जाने वाले मेमोरी कैश के रूप में किया जाता है।

• DRAM:- Stands for Dynamic Random Access Memory, a type of memory used in most Personal Computers. 
• डायनामिक रैंडम एक्सेस मेमोरी के लिए खड़ा है, अधिकांश पर्सनल कंप्यूटरों में उपयोग की जाने वाली एक प्रकार की मेमोरी।

• SDRAM:- Stands for Synchronous DRAM, a new type of DRAM that can run at much higher clock speeds than conventional memory. SDRAM actually synchronizes itself with the CPU.
• सिंक्रोनस DRAM के लिए खड़ा है, एक नए प्रकार का DRAM जो पारंपरिक मेमोरी की तुलना में बहुत अधिक घड़ी की गति से चल सकता है। एसडीआरएएम वास्तव में सीपीयू के साथ खुद को सिंक्रनाइज़ करता है।

• DDR2-SDRAM:- Abbreviation is Double Data Rate Synchronous DRAM 2 is a type of DDR that supports higher speed than its ancestor DDR SDRAM.
• संक्षिप्त नाम है डबल डेटा दर सिंक्रोनस डीआरएएम 2 एक प्रकार का डीडीआर है जो अपने पूर्वज डीडीआर एसडीआरएएम की तुलना में उच्च गति का समर्थन करता है।

• DDR3-SDRAM:- Abbreviation is Double Data Rate Synchronous DRAM 3 is the newest type of DDR that supports the fastest speed of all the SDRAM memory. 
• संक्षिप्त नाम है डबल डेटा दर सिंक्रोनस डीआरएएम 3 नवीनतम प्रकार का डीडीआर है जो सभी एसडीआरएएम मेमोरी की सबसे तेज गति का समर्थन करता है।

ROM (Read Only Memory):- Computers always contain a small mount of Read-Only Memory that holds instructions for starting up the Computer. Unlike RAM, ROM cannot be written to. It is non-volatile which means once you turn off the Computer the information is still there.

कंप्यूटर में हमेशा रीड-ओनली मेमोरी का एक छोटा सा माउंट होता है जो कंप्यूटर को शुरू करने के लिए निर्देश रखता है। RAM के विपरीत, ROM को नहीं लिखा जा सकता है। यह गैर-वाष्पशील है जिसका अर्थ है कि एक बार जब आप कंप्यूटर को बंद कर देते हैं तो जानकारी अभी भी बनी रहती है।

PROM (Programmable Read-Only Memory):- A PROM is a memory chip on which data can be written only once. The difference between a PROM and a ROM (read-only memory) is that a PROM is manufactured as blank memory, whereas a ROM is programmed during the manufacturing process. 

PROM एक मेमोरी चिप है जिस पर केवल एक बार डेटा लिखा जा सकता है। एक PROM और एक ROM (रीड-ओनली मेमोरी) के बीच का अंतर यह है कि एक PROM को ब्लैंक मेमोरी के रूप में निर्मित किया जाता है, जबकि एक ROM को निर्माण प्रक्रिया के दौरान प्रोग्राम किया जाता है।

EPROM (Erasable Programmable Read-Only Memory):- It is a special type of PROM that can be erased by exposing it to ultraviolet light. Once it is erased, it can be reprogrammed. An EEPROM is similar to a PROM, but requires only electricity to be erased. 

यह एक विशेष प्रकार का PROM है जिसे पराबैंगनी प्रकाश के संपर्क में लाकर मिटाया जा सकता है। एक बार इसे मिटा देने के बाद, इसे फिर से प्रोग्राम किया जा सकता है। एक EEPROM एक PROM के समान है, लेकिन इसे मिटाने के लिए केवल बिजली की आवश्यकता होती है।

EEPROM (Electrically Erasable Programmable Read-Only Memory):- Pronounced double-EE-prom or e-e-prom, an EEPROM is a special type of PROM that can be erased by exposing it to an electrical charge. Like other types of PROM, EEPROM retains its contents even when the power is turned off. Also like other types of ROM, EEPROM is not as fast as RAM. EEPROM is similar to flash memory (sometimes called flash EEPROM).

उच्चारण डबल-ईई-प्रोम या ई-ई-प्रोम, एक ईईपीरोम एक विशेष प्रकार का प्रोम है जिसे विद्युत आवेश के संपर्क में लाकर मिटाया जा सकता है। अन्य प्रकार के PROM की तरह, EEPROM बिजली बंद होने पर भी अपनी सामग्री को बरकरार रखता है। अन्य प्रकार के ROM की तरह, EEPROM भी RAM जितना तेज़ नहीं है। EEPROM फ्लैश मेमोरी के समान है (कभी-कभी फ्लैश EEPROM कहा जाता है)।
